A new era for Vitality’s project has begun! Two weeks ago, we, the new volunteers -Raúl (Spain), Halyna (Ukraine) and Timothé (France)- met together in the beautiful village of Bergolo. Since then, we have been adapting to our new lifestyle in the remote valley of Alta Langa -with the help of Janis, the most veteran volunteer-, enjoying the peacefulness of Bergolo and discovering the wonders of its landscapes. Nonetheless, we also have been working hard in order to organize the ambitious projects which Vagamondo and New Wellness Education are about to develop. Last week, we painted and fixed the apartment in which we will be living for the whole year, and which will host four more new volunteers.
This year we are pleased to announce one great update about Vitality's experience. It is our new workspace called Cascina Crocetta. This place is a country house located in the middle of the meadows of Bormida’s Valley, reformed by different architecture students over these last years. We will have the opportunity to grow a permaculture garden there! Permaculture is an alternative approach to agriculture and design of human settlements based on sustainability, which tries to reach a long-term productivity and self-sufficiency with zero impact on the natural environment. Silvia, one of the new coordinators, shared a workshop last week, explaining the principles of this approach!
Besides work, along with the new coordinators, we have been having a great time together, along with a lot of laughs and creativity! We have two guitar players here -Raúl and Flavio- which have been bringing us musical vibes with their great jams together. We even came up with a new "cult" whose words and amendments will be spread all over Bergolo.
In nomine del Vino,
dell'Holy Pesto e del Formaggio Santo.
Amen.
But apart from our silly jokes, Flavio, our new second coordinator, has taught us how to make home-made pasta and pizza, in the purest Italian style.
No way. Can you really make home-made pasta that quickly? - Janis.
Janiiiiiiiiiiiiis, can you please call Janis? - Halyna
Of course - Tim
We plan to bring a new light to Bergolo which can bring the vitality that these forgotten places need, even though they already shine by their own light. Stone by stone, piece by piece, and hand by hand; we will show to the rest of the world the glow and the beauty of these hidden spots.
