A moment of peace before the last storm 😌

Buongiorno a tutti!

It has been a while since last time I wrote to you and it is time to change this 🤭

For whoever did not understand this is Sophie! Though for today’s post we will follow a different format. Keep reading to find out 🤗

This past week things have been relatively quiet in Bergolo.

With no project (for the time being) and sweet Autumn entering slowly our homes we took the opportunity to have plenty of rest!

Although it was not all about rest.. From Monday to Wednesday we participated in the National’s Agency’s midterm training. Me, Mili, Raul and Sefa got the opportunity to meet online other volunteers doing their Esc in Italy and got to connect with them. Additionally we were provided with tools and opportunities that we could use during and after our volunteering experience.

Moreover this was the week of arrival and departures!

Raúl and Sefa left to France for a training course. They are going to deliver their cooking skills for the project and I can only expect that the people will be amazed by their talent 🧑‍🍳

And speaking about departures Sunday we had a departure celebration for Silvia. She will be leaving to go around in Italy with Bruno (and maybe even France 😵) and will come back to us in February... 😭 Even though we are sad she will be gone for that much time, we are also happy that she will have plenty of time to enjoy herself and discover eco villages around 🌱 (Silvia we love you and miss you already ❤️)

Also surprise, surprise ! Angelina and Tim are back. It was great to have them here after a period of almost two weeks 😋

And at that point I would like to ask. Are you curious for their experience? I am sure you are.. You may got a glimpse last week (Raúl made sure of that) but there is more information directly from Angelina herself. Let's hear from her how was their experience :

To take a bath in the sea at the end of October? It was possible for me (Angie) and Tim last week! 🐳 🐋We went for a project about migration in Lecce (South of Italy) to facilitate workshops and help with logistics. Fortunately, we had some free time as well and we visited the seaside and the city center. The place is very different from the North of the country and sounds very exotic. Palms, cactuses, crabs, pasticiotto - a lot of things! 🌵

What about the project? It was a real challenge for the team, because the place was new and we had to set up everything from the very beginning: to build the tents, dining area and even kitchen. So the biggest part of the job we did before and after the project, when we had to put everything and then to take it away. 🏗

From my side I want to share that I had an opportunity to present my first workshop about the tools of propaganda and how it creates the image of immigrants. My experience was great and also the participants were satisfied.

In Lecce we met Tony (who hosted us in the house of his family), Adele and unexpectedly Bryan and Mikal. The last one made us feel that Raul is also among us. Mikal imitated Raul`s speech in the way of a masterpiece. “Is no good no”...?😏

So this was Angelina's testimony! For now take care and see you next week ❤️
