A big moment for everyone: 🌱Ecofestival 🌱

Ciao a tutti! Sophie here ready to spread to the world the magic of Ecofestival, in case you were wondering what went down this weekend. For this post we are focusing solely on the events of Ecofestival and not on what happened during the whole week. But fear not we will return in our normal schedule next week!

This weekend that went by, we had the honor to have our own EcoFestival here at Bergolo.

It was two days with plenty of fun, learnings and a little bit of fatigue (The good kind, we can assure you) 🏃🏽‍♀️

The first day started with yoga class and it was followed by fermentation workshop. During the day, we had recycling/upcycling activities for kids, introduction to permaculture and preparation of natural cosmetics.

Moreover, a film projection and discussion about the environment took place in the afternoon and after that, we had the presentation of our own project “Vitality”. We got the chance to explain to people about our work as volunteers and introduce them to our beautiful regenerative garden, Cascina Crocetta.

We shouldn’t forget to mention that through out the day we had a bar set up in order to serve drinks and a variety of snacks like cakes & crepes 🍰

And of course during the time of lunch and dinner we had a kitchen that served food to the people of the festival I can testify that both food and drinks were equally tasty!

This could not have been done of course without the help of kitchen team that prepared the food with care and love (And at some point they even had to prepare food for 120 people 😵)

By evening, we even had a concert by a Turin-based African music group Djiammiafrica! The whole experience was more than amazing, as people were gathered around them all the time and they were dancing like crazy.

Sunday was a little bit more quiet in terms of workshops.

We had the presentation of Vitality once again, seed bombing and seed exchange and in the end of the day we had storytelling for kids.

The day of Sunday we also had the opportunity to host some local producers and to give them the chance to present and sell their organic products. We got to taste delicious wine & beer. We even bought some home made pasta for our home along with sweet honey 🍯 🍯 🍯

Furthermore, we finally had the presentation of our TAK (Traditional Agricultural Knowledge) research. We showed the first findings of these past months and presented a small preview of the interviews we had until now.

Later, farmers and people from agriculture had their own moments to present themselves and in the end a word cafe took place.

People were able to engage into conversations and exchange ideas and knowledge about traditional agriculture. It was a beautiful moment as everyone was able to connect and learn something from each other! And it was the appropriate way to close the festival in this way.

Along with them Stefano (local producer and farmer) and other local producers/farmers presented themselves and their work.

In general, during these months until the execution of the event, we encountered many obstacles. But every time we were able to overcome ourselves and do our best! This festival is in a way our baby and we were happy to see that people embraced it with love 💕

We hope that in the future we will have the occasion and arrange it again so more people can experience the magic we created ✨

Also a BIG thank you to everyone who contributed to this! First and foremost our Vitality team (volunteers and coordinators) for the effort that was put all these months. It took quite the hard work but we made it!

Secondly, thank you, to our summer volunteers who participated in assisting in the logistics & practicals of the festival. And of course, we should also thank the community of Bergolo for hosting us and embracing properly the Ecofestival, as it should be!
